Heat up your oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter up or spray a big 9x13-inch pan so nothing sticks to it.

Take all those sweet rolls and cut them horizontally, making a top and bottom for each. Lay them out in your greased dish with the inside part facing up.

Grab a big bowl and whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla until it's all smooth as can be.

Evenly pour the custard mix over the rolls. Press down gently with a spatula to make sure they soak it up well. Then, drizzle melted butter across the top.

Cover the pan with foil and bake it for 25 minutes. After that, take off the foil and let it bake 15-20 minutes more, until the top gets a nice golden color and the custard's no longer liquid.

Let it cool slightly, then cover it with a layer of powdered sugar. Serve warm with maple syrup and butter on the side, if you'd like.
