Garlicky Calamari with Basil (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main

01 - 500 g calamari, cleaned and sliced into rings
02 - 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
03 - 15 g fresh basil, finely chopped

→ Coating

04 - 100 g all-purpose flour
05 - 2 g red pepper flakes
06 - 3 g salt
07 - 2 g ground black pepper

→ Binding

08 - 2 large eggs

→ Frying

09 - 50 ml olive oil

# Instructions:

01 - Combine all-purpose flour, salt, red pepper flakes, and black pepper in a large bowl.
02 - Crack eggs into a separate bowl and whisk until smooth.
03 - Add calamari rings, garlic, and chopped basil to the bowl with eggs. Mix gently to coat each piece.
04 - Dredge the egg-coated calamari in the seasoned flour mixture until thoroughly coated.
05 - Heat olive oil in a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Fry calamari in batches for 1–2 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
06 - Transfer cooked calamari to a plate lined with paper towels. Serve immediately garnished with additional fresh basil.
