Pizza Burger with Pepperoni (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Burger

01 - 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
02 - 1 tsp salt
03 - 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
04 - 1/4 tsp black pepper

→ For the Toppings

05 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter
06 - 1 cup sliced yellow onion
07 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
08 - 2 (8-inch) premade pizza crusts
09 - 1 cup pizza sauce
10 - 6 slices American cheese
11 - 5 oz grated mozzarella cheese
12 - 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
13 - 12 slices pepperoni
14 - 1/3 cup canned sliced mushrooms, drained

→ Optional Garnishes

15 - Fresh basil leaves
16 - Crushed red pepper flakes

# Instructions:

01 - Turn the oven to broil high. Give a 12-inch oven-safe pan a light spray with cooking oil.
02 - Flatten the beef into the pan evenly. Poke small holes with a spoon to keep it flat while cooking. Sprinkle with salt, Italian seasoning, and black pepper. Cook under the broiler for 15 minutes till it's brown and done. Take the burger out and set aside. Pour out the fat from the pan.
03 - Lower oven heat to 450°F (230°C). Add butter to the pan over medium heat. Toss in onions and cook for 8 minutes, stirring now and then. Mix in garlic and let it cook 2 more minutes till you can smell it. Move the onion mix to a plate.
04 - Lay one pizza crust at the bottom of the pan. Spread about ¼ to ⅓ cup sauce on it. Add the onions and garlic all over. Put the cooked burger on next. Cover with American cheese. Put the second crust upside down on top.
05 - Pour the rest of the sauce on the top crust. Scatter most of the mozzarella and Parmesan on it. Put pepperoni and mushrooms all around. Finish with the leftover cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese melts and the crust turns golden.
06 - Slice it like a pizza and eat while hot. Add fresh basil and red pepper flakes on top if you want.

# Notes:

01 - Kick Up The Heat: Toss some red pepper into your burger mix for a spicy kick.
02 - Switch Up Your Cheese: Try provolone or cheddar instead of American cheese.
03 - Get A Crunchy Bottom: Toast the first pizza crust a bit before you start building.
