Combine light brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to make the dry rub. Massage the full mixture thoroughly onto all sides of the brisket.

Place the seasoned brisket gently into the slow cooker. Cover with lid and cook on low heat for 7 to 8 hours until the meat is tender.

Remove the brisket from the slow cooker and allow it to rest for 10 minutes. Shred with forks or slice thinly according to preference.
