Mix the warm water with sugar and yeast. Sit for 5-10 minutes until it’s bubbly.

Stir the flour, salt, and softened butter together. Pour in the yeast mixture and knead for 8-10 minutes until the dough's smooth.

Grease a bowl, pop in the dough, and cover it up. Let it sit for an hour until it doubles in size.

Cut into 12-14 chunks, roll into ropes around 6-7 inches long. Leave them to rest for 20-30 minutes to puff up.

Bake ropes at 400°F for 12-15 minutes. Brush the tops with the garlic butter when they’re fresh from the oven.
