Glazed Orange Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2-3 mid-sized oranges, cut into thin circles (⅛-¼ inch)
02 - 2 cups white sugar
03 - 1 cup water
04 - Additional white sugar for dusting if desired

# Instructions:

01 - Clean oranges well. Cut them into thin rounds about ⅛-¼ inch thick and take out any seeds you find.
02 - Mix sugar and water in a wide pan. Warm it over medium heat while stirring until sugar fully melts into a transparent liquid.
03 - Turn heat down low and put orange rounds in flat without overlapping. Let them cook softly for 45-60 minutes, turning them now and then until they look see-through.
04 - Gently move the sweet orange circles to a wire rack with parchment underneath to catch drips. Let them sit for at least a full day until they feel only slightly sticky but firm when touched.
05 - After drying, you can roll the slices in white sugar for a pretty, sparkly look.
06 - Put your finished orange slices in a sealed container at room temp for up to a week. They're great for topping desserts, drinks, or just snacking!

# Notes:

01 - A mandoline makes cutting uniform slices much easier.
02 - Don't throw away the sweet liquid left behind - it's perfect for drinks, breakfast foods, or adding to tea.
03 - For a less soft texture, dry them longer or pop them in a very low oven (170°F or 75°C) for a couple hours.
