Overnight Crème Brûlée French Toast (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 loaf of sliced challah or thick-cut brioche

→ Caramel Layer

02 - 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
03 - 1 cup of packed brown sugar
04 - 1/2 cup of unsalted butter

→ Custard

05 - A pinch of salt
06 - 1 1/2 cups of half-and-half
07 - 5 large eggs
08 - 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

# Instructions:

01 - In a greased dish, pour melted butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup after they've thickened on the stove.
02 - Place the bread on top of the caramel layer. Whisk together eggs, half-and-half, vanilla, and salt, then pour it over the bread.
03 - Pop it in the fridge for at least 6 hours or overnight, covered tightly.
04 - Heat the oven to 350°F and bake for 35 to 45 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling. Let it cool for 5 minutes before digging in.
